What is Love Chico?
At its heart, Love Chico is about Chico-area Churches coming together in a collaborative effort to demonstrate God's love through service to our community! "We love because He first loved us" 1 John 4:19
History
The event was motivated by a desire to simply serve the community around us. There is a longing among these bodies of Christ to be the church outside of the church walls – by loving others as Christ loves us. This is a heartfelt, yet simple response to Christ's commandment “Love Thy Neighbor”.
Love Chico was birthed in 2008 when Pastors of four Chico evangelical churches were motivated by a desire to simply serve our community. Our hope and prayer is that this is a one-day introduction to longer term partnerships that will help meet and maintain many of the needs in our community.
About Love Chico in 2011
On September 25, Chico-area churches will come together to serve our community. Projects range from litter removal and visitation at assisted living facilities, to beautification projects around non-profits, parks and schools . . . and everything in between! Small groups and families are also encouraged to create a project of their own design and find a way to serve in their own unique way. Walk outside your door and see how you can worship through service in your own neighborhood!

Report to your project location, not your church. Your project leader will contact you and tell you where to go and what to bring.
