Approach:
The Love Pets Committee can partner with the Chico Animal Shelter, local veterinarians, and pet-related businesses to coordinate community-based service projects that make a measurable difference. These efforts emphasize practical help, compassion, and collaboration — the quiet kind of service that earns trust and gratitude without fanfare.

Typical process:

1. Project Selection: Committee identifies opportunities in coordination with the Chico Animal Shelter and local veterinary network to address immediate needs such as spay/neuter access, microchipping, or pet health education.

2. Partner Coordination: Love Chico facilitates business sponsorships, volunteer participation, and media support while the partner organization provides technical or professional services.

3. Implementation: Volunteers assist with logistics, setup, and client support during the event or voucher rollout. Love Chico provides light funding for materials, marketing, or coordination.

4. Recognition: Modest acknowledgment only — a small plaque at the shelter or brief mention in local advertising recognizing all partners collectively.

Sample Projects:

• Free Spay/Neuter + Vaccination Day: A one-day clinic (or voucher-based model) hosted with the Chico Animal Shelter and/or local veterinarians. Love Chico covers logistics and communications while partners deliver veterinary services.

• Adopt-a-Kennel Improvement Day: Volunteers and sponsors refresh kennel areas or outdoor spaces with new paint, plants, or shade coverings.

• Pet Care Starter Kits: Partner with local pet stores to provide new adopters with essentials — leashes, food, and care guides — supporting long-term adoption success.

Goal:
To demonstrate Love Chico’s compassion through action — helping animals, supporting the organizations that care for them, and strengthening community pride in Chico’s humane, hands-on spirit.
